A Day on the Job Protecting Connecticut Homes from the Elements
Morning Preparations
The day starts early at 6:00 AM when I check the weather forecast. Today’s looking clear – perfect for our scheduled outdoor installations in Torrington. After loading up our truck with materials and safety equipment, we head to our first job site.
First Call: Gutter Assessment
Our first stop is in Harwinton, where a homeowner needs their gutters evaluated. Years of experience have taught me that proper gutter maintenance is crucial for protecting a home’s foundation. We inspect the existing system, noting areas of wear and calculating the materials needed for a complete replacement.
Midday: Siding Project
By late morning, we’re in Litchfield working on a siding installation project. This involves:
• Careful removal of old siding
• Inspection of underlying structure
• Installation of moisture barrier
• Precise measurement and cutting of new siding panels
Afternoon: Roof Inspection
The day continues in Winchester Center with a comprehensive roof inspection. As a certified inspector, I document:
• Shingle condition
• Flashing integrity
• Ventilation efficiency
• Any signs of water damage
End of Day
Before heading back to base in New Hartford, I complete detailed reports and prepare estimates for tomorrow’s jobs. It’s satisfying knowing we’ve helped protect more Connecticut homes today.
Working for DJ Hall Roofing & Siding LLC means every day brings new challenges and opportunities to serve our community, ensuring homes stay protected through all seasons.
